the kitten's so cuteeeee. haha i just have a soft spot for kittens i think (: on the way home, i saw a cat resting on the walls of those landed property, it's actually the first time i've seen a cat settled down on the low wall (:

haha anyway, my ankle's kinda screwed now. was just kicking the ball around, then did some defending and suddenly the ball hit my leg before i got a firm foothold. as a result, it knocked me off my feet (cause the ball's heavier than normal) and i collapsed on my poor ankle. at least it's fine, just feels mildly weird and unable to rotate. hope it recovers soon.

promos promos. they're approaching swiftly yet stealthily, awhile ago there was still more than two months ago. i've just realised i've been super slackish ever since blocks ended, like i've been sleeping in ALOT of lectures, and not doing my tutorials and wasting my time in school. i shall thus, attempt to change for the better. jiayou me.

HELLO YOU FAITHFUL READERS :D

thanks for not abandoning my blog even though i haven't updated in weeks cause i've been totally packed and had my hands tied down! okay it's not like i'm very free now but i'm going to update just for you! yes you, stop looking around, YOU!

today has been a happy happy day, i don't know why, but it just is! maybe it's cause i didn't have sufficient sleep and am deluded and hypnotized into believing it's a great day today (: it started off with econs timed assignment which i didn't finish but not really bothered about it since it's past already, and my essay horribly lacked diagrams. then lessons, lectures, blahblah. amazingly, i've never forgotten to bring my lecture notes to school before (cause i never ever take them out HAHA) but today i forgot to bring two sets of notes, namely chem and econs! thus, the two lectures were spent doing nonsense.

thenthen, i fell asleep during chem tutorial cause the weather was so nice to sleep :\ it was raining heavily outside, with the aircon on and depressing class tests results, factors contributing to a sleepy me :D the rain was rather depressing anyway, so i decided to binge abit, although the food the canteen sells is hardly even filling.

i originally wanted to go home early, but frisbee and chess made me change my mind (: the rain eventually stopped too, and the sun came out so my mood was slightly better toooo. then.. i had candy (: and tried juggling and entertaining myself till it was almost six already. and i still have PI to do and complete by tonight so submit for first draft (: random factfile! my PI which i spent the whole day thinking of was rejected :D

oh oh and council elections are tomorrow, i don't know what to expect. heh heh :D AND I HAD BEN & JERRY'S OMG HAHAHAHA :DDDD

glad that it's finally the march holidays! although it really isn't much of a holiday since my week is quite packed, nonetheless, i'm quite thankful for the break after these few weeks of hectic activity.

school's been loading us with a never-ending(limits :D) pile of work to do ever since the first week of orientation ended! since then, it's been the routine stay back in school till evening/night to do tutorials/mug and go home for dinner. almost every single night, i come home totally exhausted and end up falling asleep on the floor! i hope i don't burn out eventually, cause i think studying in school is much much more productive than doing so at home, and it's much nicer than home too (:

so, updates! time has flashed past, tests have arrived already, loads of activities too! post-orientation party, dramafeste (which was kinda disappointing), frisbee, etc etc. birthday celebrations, x-country, study groups, and loads of other fun but exhaustive activities!

holidays will be packed toooo. monday and tuesday are booked by the disease workshop in school. wednesday's reserved for frisbee in the morning, edwin's housewarming till evening/night, and stayover and jieqi's house which will drag till thursday (: then there's frisbee once again on friday, and not sure if i should go out on saturday!

yeah so i think i should start on my homework soon yes, cause looking at my schedule, i probably will have hardly any time to do work at all =/

two weeks of non-official school reopening has finally passed, and we've been bombed with loads of lectures daily, although with lengthy breaks in between. lectures have proven to be rather useful so far i guess, at least they've motivated me to start revision and to catch up with work which i've long forgotten, no matter how useless they might turn up to be. i'm still hoping this will keep up, so i'll be able to perservere till the end of two years with good results (:

today's a day off from school as well, probably cause of posting results. however, all the bio olympiad people had to go visit the zoo early in the morning when everyone, animals included, were all sleepy D: i lazed in bed for fifteen minutes, causing everyone to wait for me :X

we reached the zoo at 0810, which was even earlier than the zoo's opening hours. it didn't help that when our half of the group was heading around to the proboscis monkey, all of them were still asleep somewhere and out of sight. fortunately, some animals were already awoken, thus it wasn't that monotonous.

oh and we were privileged enough to visit the usually out-of-bound areas of the zoo, namely the animal kitchen and the animal hospital/research centre. was quite cool i guess, possibly the most interesting portion of the visit itself. i'll describe the place here, since photography was banned within the premises ><

the hospital's only used for smaller animals, although animals as large as a leopard have been brought in before. the animals are sedated with isoflurane, before treated their wounds in the surgical theatre. the door is supposed to be shut at all times to keep whatever germs inside within, and to prevent other bacteria to be brought in. the irony was that the door was opened for us to peek within, which is totally the same thing as walking in :X (OMG thank God for blogger's autosave, else this would have totally disappeared when i accidentally went back) oh, and there's an xray room as well, where the images can be stored in an internal database in the computer as well for easy reference. in other words, it's just like our hospitals (:

there was also a post-mortem room, where the vets investigate the cause of death. two animals died today, while another three died during the CNY period! apparently they have this whiteboard where they update the gender, species and id (if any) of the animal, and the cause of the death. there was this poor bird which crash landed head first and died, possibly cause its neck broke D: the fridge where they store the carcasses was also opened for us just to take a peek, and the smell was rather pungent, and could be smelt even from outside the PM room. apparently the internal organs under suspicion will have a small fraction sliced off, before being imbued with wax and further thinning it to be able to be scrutinized under the microscope.

animal wards (segregated cages) were also present. there was this cute cotton top tamarin inside one, and it was running around D: apparently it was reared illegally by an owner, and so it thought itself to be a human. when the owner found it too difficult to rear and donated it to the zoo, it couldn't blend in with its peers, thus it had to be isolated D: poor thing. some cages also have movable walls, for larger and more dangerous animals like lions. this wall allows the vet to investigate and apply medication to the animals, without the risk of being attacked.

last but not least, there was also a viewing gallery which provided a birds-eye view of the hospital, as well as some information on the type of darts for tranquilizers for different animals, as well as vaccination and other random rubbish (: after i reached back to school, i totally had no appetite so i nibbled some lunch and ko-ed on the way home :/

dumdeedum. i gymed yesterday, which is my first exercise in around a month and half. as a result, i'm aching all over. at least it feels really good to stretch those old weary muscles every now and then, and feel the strain :D

and so school's being going on as usual, at least it's been better now with reduced duration and frequency of breaks, and slightly better content. like today's math lecture on proportion, it wasn't covered in s4 but it wasn't a major topic too, thus the lecturers were able to touch on something actually new for once. physics lectures are still completely unappealing, partially cause of my lack of interest in the dry topic. on the contrary, bio ones have been great :D there were real engaging activities like the 'blood' mystery, and sms contest!!

not to mention i've suddenly become extremely hardworking. i spent approximately eight hours on math tutorial just for practice, when i didn't even spend two hours on homework in the past. let's just hope it holds. for a start, i can tackle my nygh papers and chem tutorials ><

caught inkheart too (: was a sweet movie i guess, definitely worth the money to watch. well-written and directed, with its fairytale-ish storyline. if you're interested to find out more you can go read movie reviews online! thanks for company too :D

haha yay!! second day of unofficial school is over, and today's the third already. i've spent my whole afternoon/evening/night doing math tutorial which isn't even required, just for practice, and I FEEL SUPER ACCOMPLISHED. i'm horribly happy about it, and i think i'm going crazy cause i spent around eight full hours doing math math and only math!

today has been a happy day, short hours in school, and math almost complete with two subquestions remaining, which i'm abit lazy to tackle cause i'm stumped (: oh, and also cause school started at like 1130, so i had plenty of rest to catch to make up for the first day! and so this means that i should totally go sleep now, after all the tedious brainwork i've done. goodnights (:

and so today was the first day of school since two months ago! i can only say it was really really exhausting, not cause of the packed back-to-back lectures, but because the breaks were really really long. in fact they were longer than the lectures themselves!

0745 was the international science youth forum opening in the high school auditorium, and involved some nobel laureates, overseas science delegates, and of course, us students just to fill the place. it was horribly packed, which meant that i got the prime seats: the stairs. and due the exceptional planning, we ended an hour early and had two whole hours to kill before our welcome speech.

the welcome speech/opening speech was far from welcome, and it was really just a display of poor grammar and language by the discipline master. oh, and more importantly informing us of our lecture locations. lectures were uhm, mainly just recaps of what we learnt, and since most lecturers laid down ground rules today, hardly any time was spent on the lesson itself.

and the first day of school required me to attend school frm 0800-1500, which is a total of seven hours! however, four hours were breaks... which i spent most of it in the college library reading.
