glad that it's finally the march holidays! although it really isn't much of a holiday since my week is quite packed, nonetheless, i'm quite thankful for the break after these few weeks of hectic activity.
school's been loading us with a never-ending(limits :D) pile of work to do ever since the first week of orientation ended! since then, it's been the routine stay back in school till evening/night to do tutorials/mug and go home for dinner. almost every single night, i come home totally exhausted and end up falling asleep on the floor! i hope i don't burn out eventually, cause i think studying in school is much much more productive than doing so at home, and it's much nicer than home too (:
so, updates! time has flashed past, tests have arrived already, loads of activities too! post-orientation party, dramafeste (which was kinda disappointing), frisbee, etc etc. birthday celebrations, x-country, study groups, and loads of other fun but exhaustive activities!
holidays will be packed toooo. monday and tuesday are booked by the disease workshop in school. wednesday's reserved for frisbee in the morning, edwin's housewarming till evening/night, and stayover and jieqi's house which will drag till thursday (: then there's frisbee once again on friday, and not sure if i should go out on saturday!
yeah so i think i should start on my homework soon yes, cause looking at my schedule, i probably will have hardly any time to do work at all =/

hoho, i think today's really the most enjoyable workday ever. it was an indian wedding, and it's quite different from the weddings we actually know, what they do and such, though it isn't exactly traditional indian wedding i think. plus the doesn't hide in the changing room to change, instead they mingle around with the guests and entertain them and such, it really lived up to a joyous occasion.
one of life's best occasions is probably getting wedded to someone whom you love and whom you are willing to spend your whole life with, to grow to understand better in the next few decades to go. and inviting friends and family to your wedding shouldn't all just be about collecting red packets or feeling obligatory, but should just be because you wanna share the joy with everyone around you, and be really happy like the bride and groom.
and of course, today's team was rather nice too! that's because we had probably the nicest manager, thina, eight other waiters/waitresses, most of them rather talkable to. and of course, thanks PAT(ahem) for all the help, especially for carrying the super tray for me HAHA. say hi on the tagboard if you're reading this!

okay so i've lost the mood for blogging, maybe cause i feel really lazy to get up and move from all the aches.
work started on thursday, and it's been a great new experience i guess. isn't too bad, just that you become a target of exploitation and abuse from your superiors, and you work in deep to the deathly hours. so far it's been quite alright, although some unreasonable people and brainless ones have emerged already, in just this short span of two days of work!
well, and i wholeheartedly agree with wenhao that a good manager makes a good day at work, even a good partner makes work enjoyable. not like some people who just scold you for everything and blame everything on you even though it's not your fault. then again, cy already told us that this is one of the most unfair jobs, so i guess i'll just have to make do.

today's work training was kinda superb, really interesting and fun/funny at the same time, although i should have heeded jay's advice and headed an hour late instead. it's really really really interesting to learn what proper steps there are to serving in a high-class hotel, since i'm like gonna be mainly working in raffles, although i might stray to other hotels every now and then at the same time.
yahh, there's like rules to follow, like how in the case where you don't know something, you're supposed to apologise, explain, and give a remedy! and the names of everything on the table you see in a hotel dinner. and what you're supposed to do to serve, like from greeting to techniques of pushing in chair, laying napkins, portioning blah blah blah.
oh and i tell you, the prestigious high-class hotels in singapore cost a bomb to stay in. st regis has rooms like priced at an average of 800/night, and unless i heard wrongly, which i hope i did, presidential suites in raffles hotel cost 80000/night -.-
