why do i have a freaking N.A. for chinese just because i didn't hand in one judged compo? it just doesn't make sense to base the term's marks mainly on one composition. if that's the case, the composition should have been a test and not a piece of homework -.-

and now the test results have little impact on the results, and are acting just like an assignment. thanks so much for giving me an additional F9 score to my MSG man. i really appreciate it. and thanks for the 4.33, and the third last position.

roar i'm feeling so sian again! i have a freaking boring but important testimonial to rush out no later by friday, but i just can't be bothered to think of my achievements and wonderfully oh so fantabulous adjectives to describe myself -.- and i think the me in school isn't the exactly natural 'me' personality, but some form of restricted one. so whatever i type in my testimonial, it might only apply to school!

oh and the main reason why i'm so bored, is cause my comp crashed on me =/ well i tried to solve the problem of the failure of updating windows, and to find the reason why my msn refused to be installed no matter how many times i poked and probed it. in the end i got all itchy handed and went to meddle with the registry keys and struck jackpot ._.

and so, currently my comp is under servicing becauseee.
1. double clicks no longer work.
2. nothing works.
3. refuses to be shut down.
4. refuses to load the user login page
5. freezes at the blue windows xp screen prior to login

oh and just in case you're wondering how i manage to mystifyingly appear online, it's just cause i'm using my dad/mum's laptop. and willsomeone entertain me please D:

there's bio olympiad quiz tomorrow AHH. sorry xc! no gym ):

as i'm listening to Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis, i'm reminded of my OB Mongolia trip. i remember very distinctly, listening to this song and singing at the top of a hill on Bayaraa's satellite phone, as we sat down to rest while on the way to the herder's farm.

and it brings back memories of the friendships forged there, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities of exploring grasslands, learning a completely new language, adapting to a new culture. and precious times together etched in our minds. all past. because they're simply too difficult to contact.

i miss them ): gahh, i'm such a sentimental freak.

niaghaha. it's sabbatical week this week! for the sake of non-hc people, it's a week where you choose a random course based on your interest (most of the time for marks which will count for end-of-year and cost), and attend it throughout the week in lieu of lessons. this occurs once a term, meaning we have four free weeks a year (:

mm, so mine's on the study of dystopia through films. and we started off by watching Blade Runner today, which is an absolutely awesome movie made in 1982. the best thing about it is the twist at the end, which you won't realise unless you give it much thought and notice the symbolism of many of the happenings. although some portions are kinda gruesome, and it starts off a little slow. buttt, it has the typical 80s kind of feeling and background when they film it, and it's seriously attention grabbing and thought-provoking as it proceeds throughout the plot.

i'm kinda glad that i chose this sabbatical, and we'll be doing AI, Minority Report, Children of Men and I Am Legend throughout the week. what a way to destress, especially after knowing my fantabulous MSG, and amazing math results. it's movie mania this week! :D

hee, and happy birthday shihui (:

ahah, and so the once-in-a-lifetime medal playoff for singapore has just ended (: i'm saying this cause weightlifting has no playoff for medals, so technically it's not counted :D

wellll, firstly, i'd like to show irritation at people who are ignorant at games who comment as if they're all so great and know the game perfectly. although i'm fine with a few passing comments like, "she shouldn't have missed that," or "well played point," but commenting as if you know how difficult the game is, or have the Complete Guide of 101 Strengths and Weaknesses of All Sportsmen, is just irritating!

heh, maybe it's cause i'm a sportsman myself, and it is frustrating sometimes when people pin expectations on you, not expecting anything less than a win. to us, viewing from a bird's eye view, we won't really know how the ball is travelling at, nor the speed at which it moves. down there, it might be a completely different story altogether, where pure concentration and Usain Bolt reflexes are required. yet, ignorant people, especially people who know nuts about sports, make rubbish remarks, commenting on how lousy the players are. if you're that great, you should go become their coach, or represent the country :D but you're not! so just like shut up and watch the game, and be awed by their prowessss. but well, i think zhang yining has great control over the ball, she manipulates the direction like crazy x.x and no, i know nothing about table tennis (:

this round of olympics have been quite amazing, with the two fastest men on the planet emerging. Michael Phelps the fish, and Usain Bolt from jamaica (what an ironic name). if you're living in the mountains, just to update you that phelps has tied for seven gold medals in a season, matching the world record, though athletes have been protesting cause swimming has the most events cause of the variety of strokes and distances, while for and atheletes you either run or jump, rarely both. (for more details, read The Straits Times, Sports section)

i've nothing more to say about Phelps, the media covers it all already (: but for Bolt, he's as amazing, he was so fast that the clock took a moment to decide if his timing was 9.68 or 9.69. but well, he was shown to have slowed down at his last 20m, cause he was so far away from the second position. quoting statistics from The Straits Times, the time between Bolt and the second position was 0.20s, while the last from the second, 0.14s. he even managed a victory pose before he crossed the line.

rawr okays, that's enough for now, i seem to be becoming like some commentator, or the person who gives a summary of the olympics daily on chnl 5. well, can't be helped i guess, cause i like sports :X

ah, help me ): a c6 for chinese, means i'm on my worst streak ever for chinese. throughout fifteen years i've never failed a single chinese test/exam, and here i am, one who failed two papers last term. considering that my chinese is better than english in terms of percentile, this shouldn't be happening. even for PSLE, i didn't get my A* for english, but swept the A* for chinese and distinction for HCL.

furthermore, geog came back, and i'm with a freaking 59% for it. it's not like i didn't study for it, i can regurgitate everything back at you, but somehow i just can't get the marks i need. and IHC's not looking good at all, after how we were told we didn't do well(we knew it ourselves when we saw the questions).

and i've just finished my wonderfully horrible math paper. what an oxymoron. i'm quite screwed for it, estimated at least 20 marks lost? and i was hoping for the 2AU math to actually help to improve my score. guess this'll only happen in my dreams. with every terrible score i receive back, i get even more motivated to start mugging and to work hard for my EOY papers, hoping to ease through them. but when i start staring at my notes, i lose all form of motivation and have simply no idea where to start from. and exams are five weeks away D:

demoralized.

;D i never realised how many faithful bloghoppers visit my blog daily till i installed the webcounter (: and i think it's really really cool, cause it shows me a detailed breakdown of hourly, daily visits, as well as the list of referrer sites, and the details of the people who visit my site :D

hoho, i'd be even more touched if all of you leave a tag everytime you all pop by xD. just for updates, i've been faithfully attempting to do work, and i'm proud to announce that i've been relatively productive, finishing two years worth of chem tys :D i also visited kahhong and sy's house during the long weekend, and enjoyed myself thoroughly (:

oh and ohhh, motivate me to study harder please :D damn, i sound so cheery and high. i think i sound a little incoherent but i'm not going to care, cause i'm half-asleep =x

today's bio olympiad training was quite a deprived one. due to chinese common test, we only attended 1/4 of the session, which is half an hour. oh and introducing...

Hong Guang's Theory of Growth

There is a limit to the growth of every individual, and the height limit of Homo sapiens sapiens is 3m. The presence of a limiting reagent causes the individual to be unable to undergo exponential growth to reach the ideal height of 3m. As such, different limiting reagents for different individuals cause them to reach different heights at the end of their lives.

During the lifespan of individuals, catalysts may be added to speed up the rate of reaction, the most commonly known catalyst is puberty. This provides an alternative pathway for the reaction with a lower activation energy, increasing the number of effective collisions, increasing the rate of reaction. The result is a phenomenon commonly known as growth spurt.

However, this theory also has its limitations, for one, it has not been tested. Neither has it been proven to be through, but further investigations will be carried out in order to back up the hypotheses.

uh. yea.

well i'm sorry that cause i'm a listener, i tend to smile to you to acknowledge that i'm still listening, but you keep thinking that i find what you say funny. oh but then, i must have forgotten that sorry has no cure, and i should just stop apologizing to you. and then i'll just appear to be rude, cause i don't apologize. so i should just shut up so i won't say anything wrongly and have the need to apologize, then i get scolded for being irritating cause i'm so sian and quiet.

it might turn out as entertaining to you, but isn't. but you're someone who matters alot to me, so in the end i'll just have to eat it up and accept it.
